There is often a sense of shame and worthlessness that gets deeply ingrained in people who have had these experiences. Oftentimes, perfectionists and high-achieving women will attempt to do all the things in order to finally feel good enough. The sad truth is that if you try to please everyone, you end up pleasing no one, including yourself.
Perfectionism can leave you feeling lonely, ashamed, and struggling with imposter syndrome. As a recovering perfectionist myself, I’m passionate about helping women readjust their standards and begin to see that they don’t need to do it all to be worthwhile.

My approach is collaborative because while I have the education and skills to guide you, I know you are the expert in your own life. I welcome feedback from clients and enjoy coming up with creative solutions to help solve obstacles you’re facing. I know you want a therapist you can relate to and who just gets it. I will walk you through identifying where your perfectionism comes from, what negative beliefs about yourself may be holding perfectionistic tendencies in place, as well as creating new patterns that are aligned with the life you want to live.

I am certified in EMDR therapy and can guide you through healing core wounds so that your success in therapy is long-lasting. If you’ve been in talk therapy for years and aren’t getting the results you want, let’s use EMDR to finally heal from the trauma and core wounds you’ve experienced. We can work together to create healing that will stick and help you enjoy your life again.
Continues to learn
I regularly meet with a consultation group of other therapists, as well as with an EMDR consultant. I’m constantly learning new things to help my clients and improve myself as a therapist. I believe that a therapist is most effective when they are committed to continuing their education in the therapy realm, as well as continuing to learn about important issues in our society that affect the greater collective.
